[x] Wave's eyes are a green color with gray flecks in them. She has a light brown pelt with darker brown stripes. Her head is triangular shaped and her tail has rings like a raccoon. Each of her paws look like they have been dipped in brown paint. Wave is a medium shorthaired cat. She is smaller than most of her peers but she makes up for it in agility. She is lean, but gets on the pudgy side in Green-Leaf. Because of her size, she isn't a very good fighter, but gives it her all. Sight and Scent are her strongest senses, which allows her to easily distinguish between the herbs.
Personality:
Wave is a mild tempered cat. Actually, nobody has every gotten her angry, for fear that she will "accidentally" give them the wrong herbs. She is gently with her patients and respective to authority. Although, if she believes that the order is incorrect, she will do what she thinks is right. She loves to swim and does it whenever she has free time. Wave also enjoys climbing trees but she hasn't made it up farther than five tail lengths.
History:
Kit
Wave was the only kit born to her mother, Mist and her father, Weed. When she was born, they named her Cloud because they thought that the speckles in her eye looked like tiny clouds. She enjoyed her days in the nursery, playing with leaves, pouncing on feathers.
Apprentice
Cloud became an apprentice along with the rest of her peers. She excelled at hunting and swimming, but nearly failed at fighting. About a moon after she began training, her mother died of greencough. Soon after, her father left on a patrol and never returned. Stricken with grief, Cloud hid in her den and refused to eat. Eventually the healer came by and nursed her back to health. Because she was still in shock, Cloud went to help in the healer's den. She began to like it and has walked that path ever since.
Healer
Cloud became a healer at a very early age because her mentor became ill along with the rest of the camp. Using TideStars, she nursed them back to health. The council decided it was time for her to make the dive at the Sea-Cove. She came back with a white shell with worn down ridges. The council decided that she would be named Wave. The healer soon retired and Wave took the place as the clan healer.
The sun was just peeking over the horizon, sending streaks of light throughout the land. Everything was still. No birds chirped and there was no breeze to rustle the bushes. The sky was an orange color, unmarked by clouds. A small tabby she cat blundered into a pile of dead leaves interrupting the silence. Her green eyes twinkled in joy as she sped through the Homeland Forest. Picking up speed, she ran towards the coastline.
Opening her mouth, she breathed in the salty air. When she reached the Homeland Delta, she tripped and fell, sinking into the marshy ground. The tabby remained there for a while, panting. When she regained her breath, she stood up shaking the wet dirt from her pelt. Here she padded softly to the water?s edge and smiled to herself. Flicking her tail back and forth, she positioned her paws on a sturdy log. Looking into the water she saw a nice little school of fish. Her stomach rumbled, she couldn?t remember the last time she ate. Plunging into the water, she managed to catch a small fish and quickly flopped it onto the shore.
Describe the reason why your character decided to become a healer.
Cloud decided to become a healer's apprentice because about a moon after she began training, her mother died of greencough. Soon after, her father left on a patrol and never returned. Stricken with grief, Cloud hid in her den and refused to eat. Eventually the healer came by and nursed her back to health. Because she was still in shock, Cloud went to help in the healer's den. She began to like it and has walked that path ever since. She also felt that she owed a debt to her.
How does your character treat his/her patients and the rest of the clan?
Wave treats her patients gently, yet firmly when it comes to herbs. She will not take no for an answer, especially when it comes to infection and greencough. She treats the rest of the clan like her patients. Her temper is mild, but that doesn't mean that others can push her around.
Being a healer is an important position in the clan. They need to be very active, as they have the responsibility of caring for the sick and wounded, and communicating with TideStars. Explain why you would be a good choice for a healer.
I would be a good choice for the position because I am experienced in the field of roleplaying, especially healers and medicine cats. Actually, that's all I usually roleplay with. I am a very active member and have a lot of experience in staff positions.
Please provide us with a roleplay sample using this character. Correctly using information about the Sierra is required. Use details and show the healer at work.
"WAVE! WAVE!" The healer awoke to the yowling of her name. Quickly sitting up, she wiped a paw over face to get rid of the last traces of sleep and sprinted out towards the distress call. The sky was dark with a tiny yellow sliver of a moon in the distance, her eyes, being stronger than most, guided her across the sandy ground. Wave was used to waking up to yowling, especially during kit season. Stifling a yawn, she sped on over the rugged terrain. Gasping for breath, the tabby she cat stopped near Sandy Shore and perked her ears. Running would do her no good if she didn't know exactly where the call was coming from. The call sounded again, and Wave's ears pinpointed the location. "COMING" she yowled.
The yowling was coming from the reef. Of course, this moon is the tuna migration. she thought as she ran. Thinking quickly, she calculated all the possible injuries that the cats could have gotten on the reef. Running through the list in her head she came up with the herbs she would need; Aloe, Comfrey, and Poppy. Luckily aloe and comfrey grew close to the tidepools. Trotting carefully over to the area where she always harvested herbs, Wave picked out the Aloe and Comfrey. Tangy juices erupted on her tongue as she headed back towards the reef. She didn't have to worry about finding Poppy, she always kept a couple in the fur behind her head.
When the tabby reached the reef, the tide was coming back in. She could just make out three dark shapes; one hobbling and the other two flanking the injured. Instantly she recognized, Razor, the senior warrior. Wave started to wade into the water, but one of the cats, whom she recognized now as Ash yowled at her, "Stay back, you can't help if you get smashed against the reef!"
Three sleek bodies collapsed on the sand just before the first wave crashed against the coral. Wave quickly located the injured paw and set to work. Prodding it with her forepaw, she could feel the broken bone. Luckily there was no broken skin. "Eat these, now." Wave told the cat firmly as she put the poppy and comfrey in his mouth. "We are going to have to carry him back to camp." the healer grimly told Ash and Razor.
