When cats of the Sierra are ready to recieve their warrior name, they must pass a test of mastery, handed down from the clan's ancestors. They must swim to the bottom of the sea cave, and select a shell from the bottom of the sea floor. From the shell selected, and other traits of their personality, they recieve a life name, selected by the council, which is a reflection of who they are. It is located in a moderately safe place, but drowning is not completely impossible. It is forbidden to hunt here.
