About the IslandThe island that the Warriors of the Sierra live on is much like the islands in South America. It has a variety of climates depending on location and an abundance of flora and fauna.
The North side of the island is the most "extreme". Giant waves pound on the rocky cliffs of this part of the island. It is always cold and there are many predators. Gusts of wind buffet the North side because they are not protected by the mountain. Hardly any plants grow up here and it is a wonder that predators survive.
The East side of the island is not as extreme as the North, although it still gets its fair share of bad weather. It too, is unprotected from the harsh winds. Beaches on this side of the island are coarse and pebbly. Many predators lurk on the East side.
The South side of the island has the mildest climate and the nicest weather. It is almost always sunny and breezy. The beaches are soft and the water is warm and clear. The South side is protected by the mountain. The most common predators on the South side are hawks and eagles, which only ever bother small cats.
The West side of the island is fairly mild, but not as nice as the South side. On this side, there are coral reefs and tidepools. Predators are not uncommon because prey and herbs are abundant here. It too is protected by the mountain.
In the center of the island is a dormant volcano. It is believed by the humans that this is what created the island. The cats believe differently, of course and often take shelter in its caves or keep lookout on its summit.
