&crash - open
The day was new with possibility, yet the skies weren't. The clouds opened up, and heaved their sorrows onto the Sierra fury. Tidal waves of rain poured down from the heavens, drenching the island in a salty bath of water. Wind ripped fronds from the heights, and sand was withering away across the island. Small assorted bits of rocks and such were airborne, being chucked across the island with unimagineable speeds. Of course, despite the conditions, a warrior's gotta do what a warrior's gotta do. Especially this warrior. He was expected by his clan and council to have food for the entire clan ready by sunset, and to keep the camp in shape from the squalling winds. Crash surveyed the camp. Leaves and fronds were flying uncontrollably. The apprentices den had sustained slight damage, and was leaking water through a tear in the weaving of palm fronds. The nursery was looking like is was ready to fall any second. And not one warrior was out here to even give the slightest hint of helping, nor were any of the council, or apprentices. He stood atop the highest ledge in the camp, just by his den, Crash stood proud and bold. He summoned his voice, and yowled "Warriors and apprentices, get out here NOW!" His words were harsh, the but outcome of the clan was in a huge risk right now. Crash's seniority held a bond above him and his clan.
[[sorry about such short post, I can't think of anything right now. I didn't do much with this post either =/]]

Frostbite was in a clearing, a tall tabby cat in front of her, "Hello, my daughter." he spoke. He's my father! thought Frostbite, "Father?" she spoke, "I thought you were dead!" her voice quivering. "I am...." he spoke, no emotion showing on his face. "I've missed you so much!" yowled Frostbite jumping toward him ready to spend the time she had missed with him. When she came to him, she never met him. Her sleek pelt went straight through him, with no hesitation. Frostbite gasped, horror filled her eyes. "We can't touch. It's the order of this world," he spoke, with still no emotion in his eyes. Frostbite felt her eyes water, "So, we can't show any emotion either?" she mewed. "No, we can't, sorry my daughter." mewed the tall tabby. Frostbite felt like the tears in her eyes would pour down, but she smelled a strange scent that smelled of coal and roses together. No matter how hard she tried to smile, cry, or show emotion, that smell pushed it away, it didn't make her happy. It just made her drowsy, as if the whole world had fallen onto her paws. Frostbite sat down, conceding to the strange world. "Why do you only show yourself now?" she asked. "I had no other choice," he mewed tartly. Frostbite's mind welled with questions, but before they could be asked, a hazey mist floated inbetween her and her father. She jumped at him, vowing to never let him leave again, but by the time she had gotten to him, he was gone, the mist had overwhelmed him. Not even his scent remained, even the coal-rose scent had gone away. Frostbite looked up, tears gathering in her eyes. "Father! Father! Father!" she yowled, her voice echoing. She found herself in the warrior's den, yowling, "Father! Father! Father! Father!" She soon heard the sound of Crash yowling orders, Frostbite, worrying for the tom, ran outside, disobeying his orders.

Wave huddled in the healer's den, trying to block the wind and water from reaching the herbs. Her pelt was soaked and lay flat against her body. She looked like a pile of coconut hair until you saw her eyes. The usual green eyes that reflected happiness only showed fear. She blinked the water out of her eyes and silently prayed to TideStars. If anybody could help them, Tidestars would.
"Warriors and apprentices, get out here NOW!"
Crash's distinct voice jolted her out of her silent prayer. Peeking her head outside of the den she could make out a figure sitting on the ledge. The winds wipped grit into her eyes, and she blinked rapidly. Turning back into her den, she rinsed her eyes out in the little puddle of water that had formed on the ground. Dragging a palm frond over the herbs in the corner, she prepared herself to leave the den. Using her paw, she pushed small stones over the edges of the palm leaf to weigh it down in the wind.
Clenching her jaw and squinting her eyes, she fought her way through the wind to the area below Crash. Looking up she waited for the rest of the clan. A piece of wood flew through the air and missed her flank by an inch.

[Imagine that we have more than one warrior =/ ]
Crash's anger surged, as he saw the warriors and apprentices that ambled out of the dens, shreiking in the cold and wetness that soaked them to the bone within seconds of their arrival. Little did they know, or care that he had been up for a while now, defending his clan singled-pawed against the force of the storm. This anger surged higher as he swiped at a nearby stone. Just then, he noticed the small she-cat, Wave, the healer. She looked frazzled and tired, she very well looked as if the squalls could pick her up and fly her away. "Thank you Wave. I'm going to organize the clan to help defend and reinforce the dens, and to try to clean it up a bit. Do you need any help in your den with herbs and so? I can try to get a few warriors to help if you do. " He searched her bright green eyes for emotion or response. [/size]

Frostbite was eavesdropping into their conversation, "I can help her!" she spoke.

Shaking her head in reply, she flicked water out of her ear. "I have it covered, I think that the warriors should help with the shelter." the she cat yowled over the wind. Wave lashed her tail as more pieces of debris were hurled towards her. She managed to dodge a few, but one piece of wood lodged itself in her flank. She winced, but didn't move away from below the ledge. Something in her subconcious mind had been nagging her ever since the storm had started but she figure out what it was. Now, it seemed that she was closest to stumbling upon the answer.
"I'll check the kits and queens for injury, then return to my den." Wave meowed, her voice rising and falling with the gusts of wind. Shaking the water off of her pelt, she shivered. "Send the wounded to me, but only if it is more serious than a scrape, I don't have many herbs left." she said, her eyes betraying the little lie she told. In the den, there was a meager supply of herbs, just enough to treat a couple of injuries, but nothing more. The healer waited under the ledge to make sure that the supervisor had heard her and approved of her plan.

Crash nodded to the she-cat. "It will be even more difficult finding herbs on the island after the storm has cleared. The island is a mess, and it'll take a few sunrises with almost every cat working to get the island functioning again. " Turning to Frostbite, he offered redirection. "Frostbite, you're one of our stronger warriors, I'd like you and a few others to try to hold down the camp. Keep the dens in order, do your best to protect from the winds. I'm leading a patrol up the Southside to gather more materials to try to rebuild the dens. They're collapsing, as you can fathom. " Crash yelled to Frostbite over the wind and beckoned to one of the failing dens. The nursery, which thankfully was only the home to two queens, one expecting and the other with a four moon old kit who was subject to being an apprentice any day now. Wasting no time, he sent Frostbite on her way, attempting to avoid the sheer winds and blinding sheets of rain. He shook a wave of water off his pelt and it rippled off in a array of splash.

Frostbit nodded despite the strong winds. It was true she was one of the strongest warriors in the clan, she raced to the den, commanding a young apprentice who stood in the way of the collapsing den, "Hey, you! Come on! Go! Or help me!" she yowled, the apprentice turned his head nodded and scurried of. Frostbite caught one of the vines that had snapped during the storm. Her strong body held her firm on the ground, she pulled the vine and put a rock over it to keep it steady. Suddenly, she heard a scream from one of the dens, she didn't know from which until she realized it came from the nursery!

The TideStars were not being helpful to the failing clan. The nursery wall had collapsed, enclosing two queens and one older kit. Although it was not terribly horrible the condition of the cats, the supreme winds were blowing an assortment of leaves, rain and debris into the fallen den.

Crash's attention was drawn immediatly to the fallen den. Surging orders at an instant with out much though, her yowled "Warriors, apprentices, help now! Warriors, try to get inside the den, and push the heavy branches up. Apprentice, on the outside, try to drag it off the queens and kit. Everyone, together now! Speckle (), you're small, see if you can go in and rescue the kit, and Twist (). They need to escape, the water's starting to flood."

Frostbite stared in horror, the queens and kit were inside! She dumped her work and she ran to the nursey. She pulled on the nursery wall, she pulled and pulled. 'Shhoo' she had moved the nursery wall, just a bit! She tugged even more, determined to get the kit and queens out. She yanked even more, when suddenly a huge gust of wind came, she was flung of her feet, the nursery wall had fallen even farther than before! She turned around to see that the rest of the cats had come, she spun around and started to help them, her well-built muscles straining to keep her up.

Crash will be heading a patrol up to the Southside to collect materials. He will be taking warriors, and a few apprentices. The stronger warriors should remain in camp to battle the heaving winds and rain.
If you will be remaining in camp, you may continue to post on this thread.

Wave nodded at Crash's decision to leave the strongest warriors to help face the storm. A crash, turned her attention to the source of the noise. The nursery wall had collapsed, trapping the cats inside. Adrenaline surged through her veins, and the tabby she cat bounded towards her den.
The wind was blowing harder now, the rain seemed to be coming in horizontal sheets. The healer turned her shoulder into the wind and slowly made her way to the den. I hope the herbs are still there.
Finally, she arrived, exhausted in the entrance of her den. She collapsed with the exertion and laid on the ground for a moment before remembering why she had left the clan in the rain in the first place. She flicked her tail and stood up. The dim light in the den made it hard to see. Her green eyes glowed like flourescent shrimp at night. Dread came over the small she cat in waves. The small pile of herbs had been strewed across the floor of the den. The rocks were in the small pool of water that formed at the base of the shelves. Not wasting any time, she leaped over the puddle and began to salvage the medicinal plants.
With a small bundle of comfrey and tansy secure between her jaws, she left the safety of the den. Once more she was pelted with rain and flying debris. She silently pleaded that the kits and queens were alright. The wind pushed her back towards the den, and she had to dig her claws into the muddy earth to keep from sliding. Wave mustered all of her strength in order to keep the herbs from flying out of her mouth.
A bundle of fur flew towards Wave, and she flinched. It was Frostbite. The look of horror on her face told the healer that the kits and queens were still trapped inside the den. The brown tabby stepped towards the edge of the throng of cats and curled her body around the herbs. Frozen herbs wouldn't help anybody. She knew her strength was measly compared to the warriors and so she placed herself out of the way and waited.
