The sky bore a pinkish tinge as the sun rose high above the island. Slowly and steadily the sky filled with light and warm. The island was awakening. Crash padded out of his den, which was woven with palm fronds and mangrove leaves. He had made it himself, with the help of a few apprentices, the day he became supervisor. It wasn't a strict tradition in the clan, but it was what most supervisors did. It was a way of celebrating. But he had little time to admire his den. The clan was awakening, and assignments needed to be made. He watched the clan slowly come one by one out of the dens and began to eat the fresh-kill. He cleared his throat once to gain the attention of the clan.
Ooc; It'd be great if all of the characters to post in this thread, I'm making apprentice-mentor assignments.

Snow blinked severel times and yawned, she stretched in her nest and stood up.She cleaned her self up and padded out of the den and looked around. She the clan's new supervisor. She smiled a little and padded on to get her Fresh-kill.The warm cool breeze blew on her fur.She liked the feeling of the warm breeze greeting her in the morning. When the short breeze stopped, she grabbed a mouse and walked over in the shade and ate quickly because Crash was about to speak. She finished up and sat up and glanced at her Supervisor.

After gaining the clan's attention, he began to speak. The weather today is great and the prey should be plentiful. I'd like to get a load of fresh-kill today that'll leave everyone full. I'd like all warriors training apprentices to be hunting today. Those who are not training apprentices should go on patrols together." After giving his status report, his listed which apprentices will be training with each warrior. He ended the list with "and Snow will train with me today."

Crash surveyed the clans as they dispersed to do their tasks. The apprentices met up with their mentors and slowly drifted one by one out of camp. His own apprentice joined with him and he began to explain what they were going to do.
"Like I said, I'd like t get quite a lot of hunting done, so were going to head up a small patrol. Were going to head into the jungle and see what we find. Okay?"
He made sure the young apprentice understood what he meant, and journeyed off into the jungle
Ooc: That was a bit of powerplaying, sorry 'bout that. I needed to move the thread to the jungle. Which by the way, this thread is now being moved to the board, "Jungle"

Snow understood what he was saying. She nodded and padded after him.She was thinking of all the prey she could catch to prove that she was good."I hope i catch plenty of prey today."She meowed looking up at crash while walking by his side.
The warm breeze blew against her fur again. She smiled and padded onward.

"Great to here that Snow. If you do well today, I can talk to the council about having your warrior assesment soon." Crash mewed to the apprentice. "The jungle, as you know, is home to lots of small land animals, such as mice, rabbits, voles, and pheasants. Lets see what we can scent." Crash instinctively crouched into the hunting position and drank in the sweet smell of the jungle. He felt almost overwhelmed by the scents, but he pinpointed one particular smell...a nice juicy looking mouse just beneath the bush. He stretched, and sprung himself toward the prey, bracing for the reaction.

The mouse did not notice the predator until it was too late. He began to retreat, only to get caught by th large tom.

"Nice catch." a soft voice floated like a cloud over the undergrowth. A brown tabby padded softly toward the cats. "I've been searching for chervil today. Have you seen any? They have white flowers and ferny leaves." The she cat closed her green eyes and turned her face to the few beams of sunlight that made its way to the ground past the tall trees. Wave quickly dropped her head. She didn't want the supervisor and apprentice to think she was crazy. The tabby she cat sat down on a small patch of dirt and flicked her tail at the fly that ws buzzing around her.

Ooc;; Yeah. I completely forgot about the list of herbs I made for this site, and yew was the first thing that came to mind. Deathberries could be used as poison to keep away the boars or something. Never mind, I changed it to a plant on the herb list.

Crash thingyed his head. "No, I can't say I have. If you'd like to follow us, we're going to take a different route today. It loops around the jungle and then back towards the camp. We may find some along the way, and some more herbs too. Would you like to come?" He questioned the she-cat.

Wave though about the last time she had actually left the vicinity of the camp. "Sure! I'd love to." she meowed happily. In fact, she couldn't remember the last time she had gone past the jungle. Her paws felt alive with a new energy, like a kit waiting to go on his first hunt. She barely contained her excitement, the tip of her tail quivered.
